rhizomatic membranes is an interactive installation exploring borders as performative systems of control and exclusion.
the project simulates a “soft border” — a responsive membrane that users must navigate through body movement, interpreted via ai-driven pose recognition.
the challenge was to translate complex social and political concepts into an experiential system. by removing explicit instructions, the installation forces participants to adapt to invisible rules, reflecting the ambiguity and constraints of real-world migration systems.
combining projection, biometric feedback, and real-time interaction, the work positions technology as both medium and critique — questioning how access, control, and identity are constructed through invisible frameworks.
