pearl & brine is a conceptual lowcountry oyster bar and supper house based in charleston, south carolina, inspired by coastal living, southern comfort food, and the quiet elegance of the american south. the project explores how branding can reinterpret traditional southern dining through a more refined, contemporary lens — balancing nostalgia, warmth, and understated luxury.
the concept centers around oysters, fried chicken, lowcountry spirits, and long dinners shared under porch lights and marsh sunsets. the goal was to create a visual identity that feels intimate and atmospheric, drawing inspiration from weathered wood, historic southern homes, vintage oyster bars, and soft coastal palettes.
the visual system combines hand-drawn illustrations, editorial-inspired layouts, and muted tones to create a brand world that feels both lived-in and elevated. photography direction focuses on texture, candlelight, food styling, and candid moments to capture the feeling of southern hospitality in a modern, lifestyle-driven way.
